Wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration - chimpledfoothill - 04-25-2019
I've been travelling in Asia and Europe for a month and about the time I started I've been having wifi problems. Lately the issue on attempting to diagnose, shows the message "wifi doesn't have a valid IP configuration." I've tried like a dozen hot fixes I've seen on google or on this forum but nothing helps. Anyone have any insight? What information would be helpful for you guys? Thanks!!

What wireless adapter is installed in device? What driver version is being run and who made the driver. ( You may wish to also confirm that what windows says you have is the same as what the manufacture says you have. This eliminates any incorrectly id'ed devices.)

I have resorted to a general clean up and tried to get my laptop to forget all these networks. I have gone so far as to delete all references to the unwanted profiles in registry as well. I do not know if that will speed up the process of renewing IPadresses when switching between the few normal network connections I use.

I'm not sure how Ethernet shouldn't be in play. I'm connected with CAT 5e Ethernet cord to my router...just like my husband is. Not sure how to system restore...I'll get back to you on that. If you want to know more details please visit here valid ip configuration

For the sake of Pete, does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've tried everything I could find about the topic online. I've tried a wireless adapter (changes the message to say "WiFi" instead of "Ethernet"), a network adapter (Ethernet 2"), and tethering to my phone ("Ethernet 3").
